This project is alterations and additions to an existing Federation brick home. The house transforms from a traditional Federation home at the front to an open contemporary home at the rear. At the transition point you drop down stairs to a living/dining space, or go up cantilevered stairs to the master bedroom and study. The design focus of the home is a stone clad fireplace which wraps around from the living room into the kitchen/ family room and up into the master bedroom above. DA approval through Willoughby Council took one month. The project was constructed by Jarvis Constructions who won a Master Builders Association Award for it in 2012 for the Alterations and Additions between $1 million and $1.5 million category.
