Alterations and additions to an existing 1910 cottage in Mosman.
This project is a refurbishment of an attractive brick cottage to accommodate a downsizing household. Rather than relocate, the clients decided to stay in their family home and their brief was to upgrade the whole house to a home they can enjoy for the next 20+ years.
The project included at the rear an open plan living, dining, kitchen with an open mezzanine level above the kitchen accommodating the study area. An ensuite was added to the front master bedroom, the existing bathroom was refurbished and a laundry was added next to the kitchen. The project also included a new covered deck and garden area at the rear, and a new deck and bay window to the front of the house.
This project was approved by a Private Certifier as a Complying Development Certificate under the NSW Housing Code. The project took less than 18 months to complete from beginning to end. Contemporary Architecture was involved in all stages of the design, documentation, interior design and contract administration. The builder for this project was CJBom Construction. Colour consultancy was by Which Hue. Landscape design was by Hortus.
