Alterations and additions to an existing home within the Glover and Nathan?s Estates Heritage Conservation Area, Mosman Council.
In this home, the original front section of the house was renewed and retained to stay in keeping with the neighbourhood character, and includes a formal living room, master suite and bedroom. A two-storey addition was built to the rear as well as a double carport to accommodate the needs of the growing family. The new first floor has additional bedrooms and a bathroom within pitched roofs and dormers. The rear ground floor includes a study, bathroom, laundry and an open plan kitchen, dining and living area with large doors that open out onto the deck and into the rear yard. The aesthetics of the house include a more traditional exterior with warm, natural internal finishes and contemporary detailing for the kitchen, bathrooms and stair.
DA approval took four months and the entire project took almost two years from beginning to end. Contemporary Architecture was involved in all stages of the design, approval, construction documentation, interior design and contract administration. The project was constructed by Learmont Constructions.
