MOSMAN HOUSE 1

Alterations and additions to an existing 1910 cottage in Mosman, approved by a Private Certifier as a Complying Development Certificate under the NSW Housing Code.

This project is a refurbishment of an attractive brick cottage to accommodate a downsizing household. Rather than relocate, the clients decided to stay in their family home, directing us to upgrade the whole house into a home they can enjoy for the next 20+ years.

The project included at the rear an open plan living, dining, kitchen with an open mezzanine level above the kitchen accommodating the study area. An ensuite was added to the front master bedroom, the existing bathroom was refurbished and a laundry was added next to the kitchen. The project also included a new covered deck and garden area at the rear, and a new deck and bay window to the front of the house.

The project took less than 18 months to complete from beginning to end. Contemporary Architecture was involved in all stages of the design, documentation, interior design and contract administration.
